Archie Bagwell brought off a try-saving tackle in the second minute after Tiverton had turned over possession on halfway and exploited an overlap on the right. A few minutes later, Glenn Channing put his side in front with a penalty.

The lead lasted eight minutes until the Tiverton pack mauled their way over from a lineout five metres out from the line.

The visitors increased their lead with a try by the right winger on the end of a move started in their own 22. The fly half converted.

The Quins put up a stout defence until they broke out in injury time and Glenn Channing kicked a second penalty to make the halftime score 6-12.

Three minutes after the restart Tiverton scored when a forward drove over following a series of quick rucks had progressed the ball to the line. The fly half added the conversion.

The Quins had a good spell in the middle of the half. Wingmen Gabe Cortina and Leon Dance came close to scoring on the end of slick handling moves.

Tiverton took control in the last quarter to add two more tries, both scored by the right winger as he finished off a good handling move before profiting from a loose Sidmouth kick.

On Saturday the Chiefs entertain Chard kicking off at 2.30pm.

The Quins play Buckfastleigh at Sidford with 2.30pm kick off.
